Two teens riding on a motorcycle were hospitalized after a van pulled out and hit them in Zion Thursday afternoon, police said.
The Zion Fire Rescue Department and Zion Police Department responded around 2:30 p.m. Thursday to the 2600 block of Lewis Avenue for a vehicle crash with injuries.
Police said that a preliminary investigation indicated a 2005 Chrysler van was traveling southbound on Lewis Avenue.
The van attempted to make a turn eastbound onto 27th Street when it struck a motorcycle, which was traveling northbound on Lewis Avenue at 27th Street.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 19-year-old man, and the passenger, a 18-year-old woman, were injured and taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan for medical treatment. Both the rider and passenger suffered injuries that were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
This Zion motorcycle collision remains under investigation.
