Police responded to the intersection of Route 34 at Sycamore Rd. where the crash occurred around 10:25 a.m.
According to police, a 69 year-old Yorkville man, driving a truck, slowed in traffic in the construction zone at the intersection when he was rear ended by a motorcycle being driven by 41 year-old Chris Whisenant of Cottonwood Dr. in Yorkville.
Whisenant, 41, of Yorkville, was taken to Rush Copley Hospital, then transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital, for treatment of his accident injuries.
A passenger on the motorcycle, Annette Fox, 41 of Yorkville, was also taken to Rush Copley Hospital for treatment of her accident injuries. Those injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
The pickup truck driver was not injured during the accident.
