Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed In Fatal Plainfield, Illinois Motorcycle Accident

There has been a wrongful death lawsuit filed regarding a fatal motorcycle accident on October 8, 2011 that happened on Route 59 in Plainfield, Illinois.  This accident was summarized in the October 9, 2011 post (“Motorcyclist Killed During Route 59 Accident In Plainfield Illinois“.)

The lawsuit has been filed by the widow and daughter of the Naperville man killed, George Weikum.  The lawsuit has been filed against both the man accused of hitting him while intoxicated as well as a golf club that served the man alcohol before the accident.

An excerpt from the October 5 Joliet Herald News story on the lawsuit, titled “Wrongful death suit filed in fatal Plainfield accident” :

The lawsuit filed Thursday in Will County court by Collette Weikum and her daughter accuses David C. Dietrich, 33, of Shorewood, of getting drunk while working at a golf outing for Victory Baseball 9U Victory Gold at the Tamarack Golf Club in Naperville, then getting behind the wheel of his vehicle.
