There were two Wood River motorcycle accidents on Monday (July 30, 2018) night and early Tuesday (July 31, 2018) morning. Both crashes involved an apparent loss of motorcycle control that happened for a currently undetermined reason.

As seen in those articles, the first crash involved a motorcycle that crashed into a garage; the motorcyclist was injured and flown to Barnes-Jewish Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries.
The second crash also involved an apparent motorcycle loss of control. In that crash, that happened before 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning along Route 143, a motorcycle crashed into a median and lost control of the motorcycle, after which the motorcycle struck a sign. The motorcyclist, identified as Nick Leckrone, 38, of South Roxana, died at the accident scene.
Both accidents remain under investigation.
