A woman died after a motorcycle accident near Savanna, Illinois on Saturday evening.
The woman, Robyn Chambers, 52, was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by a friend, former Jefferson County District Attorney David Wambach.
The accident was reported at 7:20 p.m. on Ridge Road, near the intersection of Haas Road. The accident occurred when the motorcycle slid into a ditch after Wambach swerved to avoid debris in the road. Chambers was reportedly thrown from the motorcycle when it slid into the ditch.
She was taken to St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, Illinois where she was pronounced dead at 11:29 p.m.
Wambach, 52, of Lake Mills, was treated at a hospital in Clinton, Iowa and then released.
The accident is under investigation by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department.
