Two people, a mother and her 7 year old son, were injured Saturday in a motorcycle accident in Gurnee, Illinois.
The boy was the passenger on a motorcycle driven by his mother.
Both remain hospitalized.
The motorcycle accident occurred around 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Delany Road and Route 41. A Kia driven by Brendan Hoffman, 29, of Antioch, struck the motorcycle. The accident occurred as the motorcycle was making a left-hand turn.
The collision threw the boy and his mother from the motorcycle, and they landed underneath another car, from which they had to be extricated, according to Gurnee Fire Lt. Heath Graham. Both were said to have been wearing helmets.
Hoffman was issued a traffic citation Sunday for failure to yield to the motorcycle.
