So far in 2015, many of the Illinois motorcycle accidents appear to be caused by “loss of control” by the motorcyclist.
There are many reasons why a motorcyclist may “lose control” of the motorcycle. The subject is further discussed on the “Motorcycle Loss Of Control Accidents” page.
Many of these Illinois motorcycle accidents in which “loss of control” has occurred have resulted in serious accident injuries, and in many cases fatalities.
Recently, two Southern Illinois accidents (in Randolph County) involved loss of control. One involved a motorcyclist who apparently lost control of the motorcycle on a curve on Zeigler Mine Road near Sarah Road. This accident happened on Friday night, August 14, 2015.
Another motorcycle accident involved a loss of control by a motorist, in which the driver crossed the center line and a multi-vehicle accident occurred, involving the motorist’s Dodge Journey and three motorcycles. This accident occurred on Route 3 on Saturday, August 15, 2015.
Additional details regarding these Illinois motorcycle accidents can be seen in a variety of media sources, including the August 17, 2015 The Randolph County Herald Tribune article titled “Motorcycle accidents overshadow weekend.”
