Trike “Rear-Ended” By SUV And Accident Results In A Fatality

A trike is a three-wheeled motorcycle that some motorcyclists prefer to ride.

There was a July 6, 2018 fatal trike accident in Ohio in which a trike was “rear-ended.”  Due to the accident both the rider and passenger of the trike were ejected.

An excerpt regarding the fatal crash, from the July 7, 2018 whio.com article titled “Urbana woman dies in motorcycle, SUV crash in Clark County“:

The woman, identified as 62-year-old Debra K. Dunham, was the passenger of a red 2008 Harley Davidson trike driven by 64-year-old Barry S. Dunham, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post.

The Dunhams were headed north at 5:35 p.m. on Dayton-Springfield Road east of Enon when they slowed to turn into a private driveway. They were rear-ended by a beige 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada driven by Jerry Durst of Springfield.

Both of the Dunhams were taken to a hospital, where Debra Dunham was pronounced dead.

At the time of the collision, both of the Dunhams were wearing motorcycle helmets.

The accident investigation continues.
