Motorcycle accidents can occur for many different reasons. Many of the leading reasons for accidents are discussed on the “Reasons For Illinois Motorcycle Accident Injuries And Fatalities” page. As seen on this page, in many instances the motorcycle accident is the fault of another person such as a motorist. However, many accidents are caused by the motorcyclist.

One of the most common reasons for motorcycle crashes remains loss of motorcycle control. Due to the dynamics of riding a motorcycle, a high degree of stability has to be maintained. If for whatever reason this stability is lost, the motorcyclist is at high risk of crashing.

If a motorcyclist loses control of the bike, the rider may or may not crash the bike. Many of the serious motorcycle crashes summarized on this site happen after the rider loses control.

If a rider (and, if applicable) passenger are injured due to the fault of another person, injury compensation may be available. This compensation is typically gained through the filing of a personal injury lawsuit. For those accidents which result in a fatality, a wrongful death lawsuit can be filed by relevant parties.
