A Route 59 motorcycle crash occurred Monday (June 3, 2019) afternoon in South Barrington. According to South Barrington Police, this Route 59 motorcycle crash occurred at 12:25 p.m.
The cause of this Route 59 crash and the party at fault does not appear to be publicly disclosed at this time. However, the crash involved a collision between a 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a 2006 Chevrolet van on Route 59 near Arboretum Drive.
The motorcyclist was identified as David Domin, 49, of Hoffman Estates, a Hoffman Estates off-duty police officer. He was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates for treatment of his accident injuries. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, he was pronounced dead at 2:43 p.m.
An autopsy performed Tuesday found Domin died of multiple injuries caused by this Illinois fatal motorcycle accident.
The man driving the van, identified as a 33-year-old Aurora man, was not hurt.
This Route 59 motorcycle crash remains under investigation by the South Barrington Police Department.
