A preliminary investigation determined the Harley Davidson was traveling northbound on Hainesville Road at a high rate of speed.

The rider was reportedly not wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the accident. The motorcyclist was taken by paramedics to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The rider’s injuries were considered to be life-threatening in nature.

The accident investigation is being conducted by the Round Lake Beach Police Department with the assistance of the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT).
