Collisions that happen as a motorist makes a left-hand turn immediately in front of an oncoming motorcycle continue to occur. This is one of the leading causes of motorcycle accidents that lead to serious, and in many cases, fatal motorcycle accidents. In many cases, the collision occurs as the motorist “fails to see” the oncoming motorcycle and therefore fails to yield. In other cases, the motorist may fail to accurately assess how far away the motorcycle is.

This motorcycle accident cause, as well as others, is further discussed on the “Reasons For Illinois Motorcycle Accident Injuries And Fatalities” page.
