Motorcyclist Seriously Injured During Collision

There was a motorcycle accident Saturday morning (September 9, 2017) in unincorporated Woodstock.  Following the collision between a motorcycle and car, the motorcyclist was in critical condition.

An excerpt from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, as seen in a September 9, 2017 media release titled “Sheriff’s Office Investigates Serious Injury Motorcycle Crash“:

An investigation indicated that at 7:26 a.m., on Saturday, September 9, a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle was headed eastbound on U.S. Route 120 east of Raffel Road. The driver of the Suzuki crossed over the double yellow centerline attempting to pass a line of cars.  A 2002 Buick Century was slowing to turn left into a parking lot. As the Buick turned the motorcycle collided with the Buick, ejecting the driver from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, identified as a 20-year-old male, was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the collision.  He was flown to Condell Hospital in Libertyville for treatment of his accident injuries, which were considered to be serious injuries.  The driver of the Buick was not hurt during the accident.

Another excerpt from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office media release:

Members of the Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire Protection District assisted.  The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit.
