Motorcyclist Killed In Crystal Lake Illinois Accident

On Sunday night, a motorcyclist was killed during a motorcycle accident in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Russell W. Janca, 23, of Alden, was traveling northbound on the ramp to Route 14 from Route 31 when he lost control of his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle.  The motorcycle hit the center median, and then flew into a 2002 Honda Accord that was stopped at a red light at westbound Route 14 and Route 31.

Police were called to the accident scene at 7:19 p.m.

Witnesses told investigators that Janca had been riding recklessly and traveling at a high speed shortly before he lost control.  The witnesses also said Janca appeared to fall off the motorcycle as he lost control of the motorcycle and hit the median.

Janca was not wearing a helmet; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
