Motorcyclist From Plainfield, Illinois Dies After Accident On I-80 Near Joliet

On Friday afternoon there was a fatal motorcycle accident on Interstate 80 (I-80) near Joliet, Illinois.

The accident happened at approximately 3:30 p.m. Friday, as a motorcyclist, Juan M. Juarez Del-Angel, 25, of Plainfield, was traveling eastbound on I-80.  As he got just to the west of I-55, a SUV was entering the ramp to eastbound I-80 from northbound I-55.  The driver of the SUV, Aaron Pointer, 42, of Joliet, for some reason lost control and drove into Juan M. Juarez Del-Angel’s path.

Juarez-Del Angel was pronounced dead at 4:31 p.m. Friday at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Pointer was also taken to Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, with unknown, but non-life-threatening, injuries.

According to the Illinois State Police,  Pointer was ticketed for driving on a suspended license, no insurance and improper lane usage.
