Motorcyclist Fatally Struck In Forest View

There was a fatal motorcycle accident early Sunday (September 18, 2016) morning in Forest View.  The motorcyclist who was fatally struck was an off-duty Chicago Police officer.

According to Forest View Police, the accident happened as the motorcyclist was stopped at a red light at Central Avenue, after the exit of the Stevenson Expressway.  As the light turned green, the motorcyclist drove into the intersection and was struck by a northbound vehicle that had “run” the red light.

The motorcyclist, identified as Chicago Police Officer Charles Barango, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Charges are pending against the driver who struck Barango.
