Motorcyclist Dies In The Days Following Crash In West Town

A motorcyclist has died in the days following a motorcycle accident in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood.

According to Chicago Police, the accident happened about 4:00 p.m. Wednesday (May 17, 2017) in the 800 block of West Grand Avenue.  At this time, there was a collision involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.

The cause of the crash as well as fault in the accident does not appear to be publicly disclosed at this time.

The motorcyclist, identified as Daniel Nitu, 37, of Chicago, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries.  According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, he died Saturday afternoon.

The accident investigation is being conducted by the Chicago Police Major Accidents Investigation Unit.
