Motorcyclist Dies Following Accident In Long Grove, Illinois

There was a motorcycle accident on Monday night in Long Grove, Illinois that has led to the death of the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Anthony Brust, 21, of Buffalo Grove.  He died on Tuesday night from his injuries, including blunt head trauma.

The accident happened around 8:31 p.m. on Monday night, at Old Route 53 (Hicks Road) and Robert Parker Coffin Road, and also involved a small SUV driven by  Joseph Cardinale, 43, of Chicago.

According to an excerpt from the September 12 Daily Herald story titled “Buffalo Grove motorcyclist dies after collision“:

Authorities said Cardinale was making a left turn in a GMC Arcadia onto eastbound Route 53 from southbound Robert Parker Coffin Road when he struck Brust, who was traveling west on Route 53.

Cardinale was not injured during the accident.

Cardinale was charged with both driving under the influence and failure to yield.
