Motorcyclist Dies Following Accident In Janesville

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Monday night (June 6, 2016) in Janesville.  The crash involved an apparent loss of motorcycle control.

According to the Janesville Police Department, the accident happened just before 9:00 p.m. near Morningside Drive and Green Forest Run.  At that time the motorcycle hit the curb and the motorcyclist was ejected from the bike.  At the time of the accident, the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The motorcyclist was identified as Steven Nimtz, 23, of Durand.  He was taken to Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center for treatment of his accident injuries.  He was later pronounced dead.

This fatal Illinois motorcycle accident remains under investigation.
