On Thursday (July 5, 2018) afternoon there was a fatal motorcycle crash in Aurora. According to Aurora Police the crash involved a motorcycle loss of control.
Details on the accident appear limited at this time. Aurora Police say that the bike hit a tree near the intersection of Eola Road and McCoy Road just before 2:00 p.m. At the time of the crash the motorcyclist was riding south on Eola Road. Jonathan J. Benavides, 30, was driving a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle at a high speed about 1:20 p.m., heading south on Eola Road from McCoy Drive, when he lost control while changing lanes, according to Aurora police. The motorcycle hit a curb and Benavides was thrown from the bike and hit a tree.
