Motorcycle Crash Near Harvard, Illinois

There was a motorcycle accident near Harvard, Illinois early Monday (May 5, 2014) morning.

This motorcycle accident happened as a motorcyclist was riding a 1993 Harley south near the 7600 block of Lawrence Road and for reasons unknown, went into a ditch.

The motorcyclist was identified as Jay W. York, 49, of Harvard.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Officers responded to the accident at 1:41 a.m. Monday.

York was transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital in critical condition via Flight For Life.

An excerpt from the Northwest Herald article of May 5, 2014, titled “Harvard man in serious condition after motorcycle crash” :

On Tuesday, the hospital said York was upgraded to serious condition.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
