Motorcycle Crash Injures Two People In Southern Illinois

There was a Southern Illinois motorcycle accident Saturday (September 27, 2014) in Hamilton County.

According to the Illinois State Police, this motorcycle accident happened at approximately 12:54 a.m. on Illinois 142, about one-quarter mile north of Hamilton County Road 200N.  At that time, the motorcyclist wasn’t able to successfully negotiate a curve in the road.

The motorcycle, a Buell, went off the road and into a trees before overturning.

The motorcyclist, identified as Curtis L. Goolsby, 44, of Eldorado, was hospitalized with injuries described as “major.”

The motorcycle’s passenger, identified as Misty D. Yarber, 37, of Harrisburg, was flown to a Evansville, Indiana hospital with major injuries.

Goolsby was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked and improper lane usage. An investigation is ongoing.
