According to information provided by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office (in a June 25, 2018 news release titled “Critical Warren Township Traffic Crash“) Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the accident scene, which was at Rollins Road and Route 45, at approximately 11:25 a.m.
An excerpt from the release:
Preliminary investigation shows the driver of a 2002 Kawasaki Motorcycle, an 18-year-old man of Lindenhurst, was traveling westbound on Rollins Road and attempted to make a left turn onto southbound Route 45. While turning, a 2007 Chrysler Sedan traveling eastbound, driven by a 19- year-old man of Round Lake, struck the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries.
While the driver of the Chrysler was not injured, two passengers – an adult female as well as a minor – were taken to the hospital for treatment of accident injuries that were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
The accident investigation is being conducted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
