An off-duty Chicago Police Sergeant who crashed his motorcycle late Sunday (August 18, 2013) died from multiple injuries, according to an autopsy. The accident happened on LaGrange Road in Willow Springs, as he was merging onto northbound La Grange Road from Archer Avenue at about 6:50 p.m.
The off-duty Police Sergeant, Jean-Pierre Borja, 44, of Chicago, had managed to lay his motorcycle on the ground after the accident.

Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy told reporters that “it looks like he pulled over to the side of the road and kind of dropped his motorcycle and had some sort of a heart issue and had heart failure.
Following the accident, Borja was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and was pronounced dead at 7:50 p.m.
