Motorcycle Accident In Southern Illinois

There was a motorcycle accident Sunday night (May 4, 2014) in White County, Illinois.

This motorcycle accident happened at approximately 8:30 p.m. as a motorcyclist was riding northbound on the Herald Blacktop just north of White County Road 945N.   He failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the roadway, and crashed the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was identified as Matthew W. Roberts, 30, of Norris City, Illinois.  He was taken via helicopter to a hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Roberts was cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and not having insurance.
