There was an Illinois motorcycle accident Wednesday morning (September 23, 2015) in Quincy.
According to the Quincy Police Department, the accident happened at 8:05 a.m., at the intersection of 12th Street and Locust Street.
At that time, a motorcyclist was traveling west on Locust, when he was struck by a motorist driving a minivan north on 12th Street. The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision.
A witness told police the minivan did not stop for a red light.
The motorcyclist, identified as Gary E. Russell, 65, of Quincy, was taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries.
The motorist was identified as Randale J. Starman, 31, of Quincy. He was ticketed for failure to identify a traffic control device.
