Motorcycle Accident In Murphysboro, Illinois

There was an Illinois motorcycle crash on Monday (September 29, 2014) in Murphysboro, Illinois.

This motorcycle accident happened on Highway 127 and Ava Road, and involved a collision between a motorcycle and car.

According to an initial investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, the collision happened as the motorcyclist was riding a 2002 Harley Davidson north on Highway 127 when the bike was struck in the side by a car.

The motorcyclist, identified as William Beers, 62, of Collinsville, was taken to a Murphysboro hospital, and then flown to a St. Louis hospital for treatment of injuries.

The driver of the car was identified as Laurie Wallace, 53, of Pomona.  She was not injured during the collision.

Wallace was cited for failure to yield.
