Motorcycle Accident In Hampshire Township, Illinois

There was a motorcycle accident early Friday morning involving two motorcycles.  The crash happened at approximately 1:50 a.m. Friday (August 1, 2014) near Hampshire, Illinois.

The accident happened as the two motorcycles were traveling westbound along Allen Road, east of Walker Road.

Both of the motorcyclists were hospitalized and then airlifted to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, with injuries considered to be life-threatening.

The motorcyclists were identified as Benjamin Fletcher, 26, of Elgin, and John Beach, 22, of Hampshire.

An excerpt from the August 1, 2014 Courier-News article titled “Hampshire cycle crash critically injures rider,” quoting Kane County Undersheriff Pat Gengler:

Gengler said Fletcher was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Beach had not been charged with anything but Gengler said the crash remains under investigation by sheriff’s investigators and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.
