Motorcycle Accident In Galesburg, Illinois

On Wednesday night, July 4, there was a motorcycle accident in Galesburg, Illinois.

According to police reports, Michael Knox, 23, of Galesburg, was injured during an accident.  He was traveling southbound on North Henderson Street “at a high rate of speed,” when he was forced to hit the brakes to avoid colliding with the rear of a car before the US-34 overpass, according to witnesses.

Knox was thrown over the handlebars, and sustained various injuries, including an orbital fracture, facial lacerations, rib fractures, and other injuries.  He was “life-flighted” to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Knox was ticketed for driving under the influence as well as failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
