A motorcyclist and his passenger were involved in an early morning motorcycle accident Saturday in Collinsville, Illinois.
According to officials, Derrick A. Wurth, 27, was killed when his motorcycle ran off the road, hitting a curb in the 2200 block of Vandalia. He was ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to what was believed to be head injuries. He was said to not be wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The accident happened around 8:00 a.m.
His passenger, Elizabeth S. Morrison, 28, was also ejected from the motorcycle during the accident. She was taken to a local hospital, and her condition is unknown at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
