Loss Of Control Of The Motorcycle Causes Genoa Fatal Crash

There was a fatal motorcycle crash Sunday (May 27, 2018) in Genoa.  The accident is being attributed to a loss of control of the motorcycle.

According to police, the crash happened on Route 72.

An excerpt regarding the crash, from the Daily Chronicle article of May 27, 2018 titled “Genoa man dies after crashing motorcycle, police say“:

Neil T. Tomsheck, of the 15600 block of state Route 72 – less than two miles from the site of the crash – was eastbound on his 1983 Honda Goldwing about 300 feet east of the intersection with Wilshire Drive about 6:44 a.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle, entered the south ditch and was ejected from the bike. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the release.

Tomsheck was pronounced dead at the accident scene.  At the time of the accident he was not wearing a helmet.

The cause of the loss of control does not appear to be publicly available at this time.

The accident investigation is being conducted by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office.
