A Long Grove motorcycle crash occurred on Saturday (May 22, 2021) on Route 83 at Endwood Drive. Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies began to go the accident scene at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and found the operator of the motorcycle, a 25-year-old man of Hawthorn Woods, had been ejected and sustained significant injuries.
Preliminary investigation shows the motorcycle operator was traveling northbound on Route 83 at a high rate of speed. Witnesses reported the operator was driving recklessly and weaving in and out of traffic. As the operator approached Endwood Drive, he struck the rear-end of a northbound Honda Accord, driven by a 72-year-old, man of Prospect Heights. The motorcycle operator, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected and sustained serious injuries.
The motorcyclist was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment of his injuries. Those injuries were considered to be serious injuries but non-life-threatening in nature.
The driver of the Honda sustained what were considered to be minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital.
According to the media release, charges are pending against the motorcyclist.
