An excerpt from the October 8, 2019 Chicago Tribune article (“1 seriously hurt in Lincoln Park motorcycle crash“) discussing the Lincoln Park motorcycle collision:
Officers responded to an auto collision involving a motorcycle around 1:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of North Lincoln Avenue, police said.

If a motorcyclist is hurt during a motorcycle accident, there are many steps that should be taken. These steps include those to address both medical issues as well as legal issues.
While a motorcyclist who has been seriously hurt during a motorcycle crash will likely be taken to the hospital, those who have not been seriously injured may not believe medical treatment is necessary.
However, there are many reasons to get a thorough medical exam even if the injuries do not appear to be serious in nature. The many reasons for the importance of a thorough medical exam is discussed on the “Reasons For Getting A Medical Exam After A Motorcycle Accident” page.
If the motorcycle accident was due to the negligence of another person (such as a motorist) or party, the motorcyclist will want to consider filing a personal injury lawsuit for the injuries and other harm that has occurred. The reasons for filing a personal injury lawsuit are further discussed on the “Reasons For Filing A Motorcycle Accident Injury Lawsuit” page. While there can be many reasons for filing such a lawsuit, one of the primary reasons is to get compensation for the direct and indirect costs that occur due to an accident injury.
