A motorcycle trooper for the Illinois State Police was killed Monday morning on Interstate 55 (I-55) near Litchfield, Illinois.
Details on the accident are somewhat limited.
The trooper, Kyle Deatherage, 32, died at the accident scene, at milepost 62, shortly after 9:00 a.m. At the time of the accident, he was involved in a traffic stop, at which time a semi truck struck him.
