There was a motorcycle accident in Joliet, Illinois, on June 15, 2014, which involved a motorist “rear-ending” the motorcyclist and then leaving the accident scene. The motorist has been charged with DUI regarding this accident as well as one that preceded it.
According to Joliet Police, the motorist “rear-ended” a motorcyclist at Essington and Ingalls. He then left this accident scene.
The traffic accident which preceded this motorcycle accident happened at 5:40 p.m., when the man was driving north on Essington Road and “rear-ended” a vehicle at Essington Road and Glenwood Avenue.
The motorcyclist was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center with injuries.
The motorist, identified as Sean J. Maccani, 25, of Joliet, was arrested at his home at 6:45 p.m.

Maccani’s blood alcohol was .29 at the time of his arrest, more than three times the legal limit of .08.
He was charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident, driving under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content over .08 and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He is being held in the Will County jail pending a bond hearing.
