There was a car-motorcycle collision Sunday (June 3, 2018) evening in Harvard. The collision critically injured two motorcyclists.
The accident investigation has found that the driver of the car, identified as Yonatan Escobar-Albarran, 18, of Harvard, was driving south on Marengo Road at the time of the accident. His car collided with two motorcyclists who were traveling westbound on West Brink Street.
Harvard first responders went to the accident scene at 4:46 p.m.
The motorcyclists were flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital for treatment of their accident injuries, which were considered to be life-threatening in nature.

Yonatan Escobar-Albarran was issued two citations and is set to appear in court July 2. He has been charged with failure to yield at a stop/yield intersection and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash after colliding with a motorcycle at the intersection of Marengo Road and West Brink Street.
The preliminary accident investigation, which involved an accident reconstruction, was conducted by the Harvard Police Department with assistance from the Harvard Fire Department and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
