There was a fatal unincorporated Aurora Township motorcycle crash early Thursday (August 23, 2018) morning. As has often been the case in 2018, this fatal Illinois motorcycle crash involved a loss of motorcycle control. The reason for that loss of control occurred for a presently-unknown reason.
According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, a preliminary accident investigation determined that this fatal Aurora Township motorcycle crash occurred as the motorcyclist, identified as Austin Willmann, 26, of Aurora, was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Jericho Road. At 12:46 a.m., east of Whitlock Avenue, the motorcycle went off the north side of the roadway.
Willman was found near the motorcycle and taken to an Aurora hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
At the time of the accident he was not wearing a motorcycle helmet.
