Fatal Schaumburg Motorcycle Accident Involving Collision With School Bus

There was a fatal Schaumburg motorcycle accident Thursday (August 30, 2018) afternoon.

Details on this fatal Schaumburg motorcycle accident are limited at this time.  The cause of the crash does not appear to be publicly disclosed.

According to Schaumburg Police, the crash happened Thursday at approximately 3:35 p.m.  At that time a motorcycle crashed into a school bus near Rodenburg Road and Irving Park Road.

The motorcyclist, identified as Robert Payne, 19, of Glendale Heights, was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.  According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, he was declared dead at 4:28 p.m.

The only occupant of the school bus at the time of the collision was the bus driver, who was not hurt during the crash.

This fatal Schaumburg motorcycle accident remains under investigation.
