There was a fatal motorcycle accident Tuesday night (May 16, 2017) in DeKalb.
According to information provided by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened shortly after 10 p.m., and involved a collision between a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse and a 1987 Honda motorcycle.
At that time, the Traverse, which was heading northbound on Nelson Road, was attempting to turn left onto Twombly Road. It then collided with the motorcycle that was traveling southbound on Nelson.
The motorcyclist, identified as Joseph D. Giuliano, 26, of DeKalb, died at the accident scene.
The driver of the Traverse was identified as Victoria Guthrie, 49, of DeKalb. She was not injured in the accident.

Guthrie told police she did not see the motorcycle before she began to turn left, according to the news release. She was cited for failure to yield while turning left, the release says.
