According to the Decatur Police Department, the motorcycle accident involved a motorcycle colliding with a pickup truck. At the time of the collision, the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Water Street, crossing Eldorado Street, while the pickup truck was eastbound on Eldorado Street crossing Water Street. The collision happened at approximately 1:40 p.m.
The motorcyclist was identified by the Macon County Coroner identified as Dominick A. Caputo, 68.

Caputo who was operating the motorcycle sustained severe injuries and later died at a local hospital. The preliminary cause of death was severe closed head injury and massive internal torso trauma. The driver and passenger of the truck were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
The fault of the motorcycle accident does not appear to be publicly disclosed at this time.
The fatal motorcycle-truck collision remains under investigation.
