There was an apparent fatal motorcycle accident near Lake Villa (in Lake Villa Township) in which a motorcyclist crashed into a ditch.
The motorcyclist has been identified as Seth J. Goodwin, 24, of Grayslake. He had been reported missing Tuesday (March 29, 2016).
An excerpt from the Lake County News-Sun article of April 3, 2016, titled “Body of missing Grayslake man found in ditch“:
The body of Seth J. Goodwin, 24, was found about 11:40 a.m. Sunday, after a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy was flagged down by a bicyclist who said he saw a motorcycle in a ditch on the west side of the road at U.S. Route 45, north of Dada Drive in Lake Villa Township. Officials found the motorcycle and Goodwin’s body, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
At this time the cause of the fatal crash has yet to be determined.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit. An autopsy is also planned by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
