There was a fatal motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon (May 21, 2016) in Hampshire Township, which is in Kane County.
According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at approximately 3:57 p.m., as a group of motorcycle riders were traveling northbound on Brier Hill Road, south of Berner Road.
At that time, as the motorcyclists came upon a curve in the road, two of the motorcyclists, riding 2003 Harley-Davidson and 2013 Harley-Davidson bikes, failed to properly negotiate the curve and their motorcycles left the east part of the road.
Both riders were taken to Presence Saint Joseph hospital in Elgin for treatment of their accident injuries.
One of the riders, identified as John Peneschi, of Streamwood, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Another rider, identified as Vince Cincinello, 27, of Bloomingdale, was treated for unspecified injuries that were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
