Fatal Motorcycle Collision In Mount Prospect, Illinois

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Tuesday night (May 16, 2017) in Mount Prospect.  The accident involved a motorcycle colliding with a car.

According to information provided by the Mount Prospect Police Department, the collision occurred just before 9:00 p.m. at Algonquin Road and Dempster Street.

At that time, a motorcyclist traveling westbound in the curb lane on Algonquin was struck by a Toyota Corolla that was heading eastbound on Algonquin.  At the time of the collision the Corolla was attempting to turn left into a private driveway.

The motorcyclist, identified as Jason Alexander, 33, of Mount Prospect, was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries.  According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, he died from multiple accident injuries at 11:09 p.m.

The driver of the Toyota, a 23-year-old woman from Mount Prospect, as well as a passenger in the car, were not injured during the accident.

Witnesses told investigators the motorcyclist was speeding before the crash, police said.

Mount Prospect police are investigating. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the department’s Major Accident Investigation Team at (847) 870-5656.
