There was a fatal motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon (July 20, 2017) in downtown Chicago.
According to Chicago Police, the accident happened at approximately 4:25 p.m. in the 300 block of North Columbus Drive. The collision happened as a motorcyclist, traveling west on Lower Wacker Drive, drove through a red light at Wacker and Columbus and collided with a Chevrolet HHR.
The motorcyclist, identified as Dobri Dobrev, 34, of Chicago. He died after being taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 68-year-old woman, was taken to Northwestern Memorial for treatment of accident injuries that were considered to be “minor injuries.”
