A fatal motorcycle accident happened Tuesday (July 10) afternoon, south of Lacon, Illinois.
Kevin Sibling, 49, of Peoria, was riding a motorcycle on Illinois Route 26 with a passenger, Karen Reed, 54, of Peoria, at approximately 3:30 p.m. when the accident happened.
He swerved to avoid a northbound car that had veered into their lane. The car was driven by David L. Dunn, 55, of Lacon, who had swerved to avoid a deer and said he did not see the motorcycle.
Sibling lost control of the bike and he slid onto the pavement, whereas Reed was ejected. Reed was flown to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria with severe head injuries and pronounced dead. Sibling was also taken to Saint Francis, where he was treated and released.
