There was a fatal motorcycle accident early Monday morning (July 15, 2013) on Interstate 80 (I-80) near Mokena, Illinois.
The accident happened at approximately 2:02 a.m., when a motorcycle – reported to be traveling at a high rate of speed in the westbound lanes – ran into the back of a semi truck near Wolf Road.
According to the Illinois State Police, the two occupants of the motorcycle – said to be a 32-year-old male from Bensenville and a 23-year-old female from Lisle – both died at the accident scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
