There was a fatal motorcycle accident on southbound Interstate 55 (I-55) on Thursday morning.
The accident happened at approximately 10:46 a.m., at the 98 mile post.
The motorcyclist who died following the accident was Sean Sloe, 37, a Chicago firefighter and paramedic.
Details on the accident and its causes are somewhat limited at this time. However, it is being widely reported that Sloe was attempting to merge onto I-55 southbound near Clearlake Avenue when he collided with two semi trucks.
