Drivers attempting “U-turns” can present a traffic hazard in certain situations, such as if they are done suddenly or unexpectedly in traffic.
There was a fatal Chicago motorcycle accident late Friday night (July 14, 2017) which involved the driver of a SUV making a U-turn.
According to Chicago Police, the accident involved a collision between a SUV and motorcycle at approximately 10:50 p.m. in the 3200 block of East 95th Street. The motorcyclist crashed into the driver’s side of the SUV as the SUV was making a U-turn.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 51-year-old man, was declared dead at the accident scene.

The crash remains under investigation but police issued a citation to the 40-year-old driver of the SUV for making an illegal U-turn, authorities said about 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
This fatal Chicago motorcycle crash remains under investigation by the Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Investigation Unit.
