Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Spring Grove, Illinois

There was a fatal Illinois motorcycle accident Sunday (July 20, 2014) in Spring Grove, Illinois.

The accident happened at approximately 9:27 a.m. as a motorcyclist was traveling west behind a minivan on Route 173 at Winn Road.

An excerpt from the Huntley Patch article of July 20, 2014, titled “Motorcyclist Killed in McHenry Co. Crash” :

In an attempt to avoid a rear end collision, the motorcyclist drove into oncoming lane of traffic, “laid his bike down on its side” and was struck by the rear tire of the minivan, which was making a left turn at the intersection, according to a McHenry County Coroner’s Office press release. 

The motorcyclist, identified as David M. Stoll, 65, of Fox Lake, was taken to Centegra Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

This Illinois motorcycle accident remains under investigation by the Spring Grove Police Department.
