There was a fatal motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon (May 4, 2014) on Illinois Route 140 in Madison County, Illinois.
The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 140 near Stanley Road at approximately 1:06 p.m., when he lost control of the bike, hit a curb and then a sign.
The motorcyclist, identified as Dustin E. Aldridge, 27, of Wood River, was taken to Alton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
